Thanks, Tom. Yes, it is indeed. And as in days long gone quick judgments/assessments meant the difference between being eaten and surviving, it's unavoidable. It's why I think that people who say they don't judge are in denial. So much so that they may not even be aware of how many judgments pass their lips per minute :)
Yeah, when people say, “I don’t judge,” I just don’t believe them. I think what I’ve learned as I grow older is to trust my judging less—to recognize that I may not have the whole picture, and maybe just give it a little more time before I accept my my judgments.
No one ever has the whole picture about anyone else. Not even the people they're closest to and live with day to day. Vulnerability & shame the two biggest reasons you don't.
